From March 6-10, 2023 a team of 9 people from Calvary EM and Calvary KUMC engaged in a learning and connecting mission opportunity in Nogales, AZ and along the U.S./Mexico border region.
For those who are not able to join this time, here are few ways to take part. The best way is to pray for the team who will be representing our congregation to find ways to connect and serve God and people.
Another way is to help fund a scholarship for a summer internship program for college students through the Border Community Alliance (BCA) who will host our mission trip. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to sponsor a young person for this growth opportunity. If you would like to contribute to this fund, please donate to Calvary as you normally would (in person or via Venmo) and please note “AZ Mission Trip Fund.” BCA is a non-profit organization and is eligible for employer donation matching. If you choose to take advantage of that opportunity or if you need more information, please see Pastor Grace Pak or Kyunghee Herh.
Lastly, we can encourage college students in our midst to consider applying for this immersion program to learn about the plight of others and how they can make differences in the lives of these God’s people. In the past they have supported six students from various schools (St. Mary’s (IN), Wesleyan (CT), Hamilton College (NY), McGill (Montreal) and Arizona State University.
